MindMend Psychiatry follows all federal and state laws, as well as all requirements and regulations set forth by the DEA, state medical board, and other governing bodies regarding controlled substances to protect patient safety and ensure clinical integrity. As a board certified and licensed psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP), I am fully qualified to provide the highest level of care for your mental health needs in accordance with the scope of practice outlined by the state boards. This included the prescribing of controlled medications when deemed necessary for optimal patient outcomes.

Our Care for You
Some pharmacies, such as H-E-B, have independently started implementing policies that require being evaluated by an MD/DO psychiatrist annually to dispense certain controlled medications. These are pharmacy policies and NOT required by the state board or DEA. All pharmacies are allowed to create such policies and we cannot make a pharmacy dispense a medication.
